Aviva Life and Annuity is highlighting efficiency by committing to processing Underwriting for YOU applications in three to five business days resulting in faster commissions for the agent. In most cases, agents will receive commission payments within 10 to 14 business days with cases placed using this innovative program.
Underwriting for YOU provides high quality life insurance products for clients while significantly improving their underwriting experience. This innovative program improves efficiency by eliminating the need (in many cases) for a home visit from a stranger to conduct a paramedical exam in order to obtain life insurance. And, when exams are necessary, Aviva will order them, freeing up agent time.
When the company launched the program initially in January 2010, the expectation was that one in five eligible applicants would not require lab testing. Their results lived up to that promise with the successful approval of 20% of the cases presented. With the changes in Phase 2, the expectation is to increase that number to 40%, reducing net average underwriting times and greatly improving processing times. These new standards for reducing lab and paramedical costs also allow Aviva to focus more resources on developing new competitive products for clients.
The second phase of the program is launching now. Aviva is expanding the program to Premier, Preferred and Standard classes for Tobacco and Non-Tobacco users. The same high quality Permanent Single Life Insurance products are still available. Plus, this program will not affect the way agents write the optional riders available on the products.
